I was THRILLED when I checked out the ScrapFit Blog and seen this month's challenge! Use a Machine!! At first I thought, this FAT OLD LADY don't excercise!! LOL! BUT, when I read a little further and found out I could use my Cricut!! WOOHOO!!! HAPPY DANCING!!
I must say that I gave the ol' Cricut quite a WORKOUT!! I decided I would try to cut EVERYTHING that went on my layout. I did pretty good. I even spent about 2 hours making a file of funky paper lace!!
OMG!! I had to add to this post: I Can't believe I didn't remember this, BUT I actually used this sketch from Stuck On U Sketches, and thought that I had missed the deadline! WELL, I AM SO HAPPY that I didn't so now I am using it for TWO CHALLENGES!! WOOHOO!!
Here is the sketch I used:
and here is my layout(the pic is of my Granddaughter Christina when I went to school to observe her reading class):
The first thing I cut was the frame area for my picture, I then laid it on my white cardstock and sprayed it with Sunshine Glimmer Mist. I then removed the frame and sprayed again with Glimmer Mist just so the area wouldn't be so WHITE.
Here is a close-up of my FUNKY LACE, and the small flowers that I cut and NOW I see that one of my little bling flower centers moved! UGH! It's fixed now!! LOL!:
I knew I wanted some scrolls so I found a pic of these online and made the file.
All the flowers were cut from files I have either found online or made from fonts that I have. The bling gem Rhinestones are from Studio 18 and the center of my small flowers are from Jolee's by You.
Here is a close-up of my big flower and another piece of my funky lace. The center of this flower is a 3-D Pop Dot from EK Success and I added some liquid glass from CTMH around the sides and then covered it in Glass Glitter that I won from Sketchy Thursday and Meyer Imports. I knew I wanted to add some more little pops of SOMETHING, but couldn't find what I wanted SO, I grabbed my black acrylic paint and used the end of a paintbrush to make all the little dots around my page.
I must say I am just THRILLED with how this all came together!! Thanks ScrapFIT for the challenge, and also for stopping by and taking a look!
