New Year is almost here and my Fave 5!

HOWDY ALL!
Well, I can't believe that 2009 is almost over! Christmas was great here except that I had to go into work on Christmas Night! Oh Well, the next paycheck is going to be AWESOME, 2 days of holiday pay plus 80+ hours! Can't wait!

I am a follower of Pinky, she is one AWESOME, TALENTED Lady! And she posted her Fave 5 layouts of the year and so I decided to do the same. Here are my Fave 5, I didn't get a lot scrapped this year, except for the last few months. So, I am choosing 5 that I have done recently:
Here's #1: This layout was for Sketchy Thursday, and this pic of my Cousin's daughter Jayda was the first 5 x 7 I came across and I just LOVED how it turned out.
Number 2: This layout if from Grandparent's Luncheon with My Angle Girl Cricket. I made this for a Challenge, but don't remember which one! LOL!

Number 3: This was from a Sketchy Thursday Challenge also, its of My Princess Abbers having fun in the bathtub. This was also the first time I EVER used paint!! TOOO COOL!!

Number 4: I do believe that this was also from a Sketchy Thursday Challenge. It is of My Little Peanut Braxton just being Precious!

Number 5: This layout was from a Bo Bunny Challenge I do believe, it is using the Boo Crew line. It's of all my kiddos on Halloween!

As you can tell most of my layouts are pretty simple. I LOVE using the sketches and all the challenges that I have found, it has helped me get back into scrappin' and also get some pages done!! If you decide to do a FAVE 5, please leave me a link so I can see what you do. Inspiration comes from LOTS of different people and things!

I did receive a WONDERFUL gift for Christmas from my Dear Hubby, He got me a Cricut Expressions, and I purchased the Design studio to go with it!! I had a Quickutz Silhouette for about 4 years and have absolutely WORE it out! Yes, I have cut LOTS of stuff with it! So, FINALLY yesterday, my Daughter Tiffany came down and took it out of the box, set it up for me and showed me how to use it. This is what I made with it today:

I hope you all have a Great, Blessed, Happy, Healthy and
Scrap~A~Licious New Year!

Second Chance Challenge

HOWDY!

I have been busy today! I decided to take the
I had to use this sketch

to make a card or a layout, since I am not much into cards, decided to use the picture of my girls sitting with Santa and here is what I came up with;

The picture didn't turn out well, as it's dark and I didn't want to wait til tomorrow, but maybe will redo in the morning when I have better light.
Here is what I used:
The black paper is from The Paper Studio (I think, taped it down before I really looked!)
The red dot paper is from Imagine That Holiday Cheer stack
"WISH" is chipboard letters but don't remember who made them, took them out of the package long ago!
Black flourishes are from Maya Road
Buttons, brads and "BELIVE" are from my stash

Thanks for taking a peek!
Have a GREAT Day!

Sketchy Thursday Card

HOWDY!
Well, here I am posting another card! LOL! I didn't think I liked making cards, but they ain't so bad! This is the card I made using Sketchy Thursday's Card Sketch to hope to win me some Copics!! WOOHOO!! I have heard LOTS of "COOL" things about these markers, but with living here in the sticks I have never seen any in person. SO, I am a hoping and a praying that my number is the LUCKY one this week!

I had seen some flowers made from cardboard posted on one of the many Blogs that I read, and had to go back and try to find them. Well, I found them alright, they were on Tessa's Blog, she sells them in her etsy shop, and she is a member of Sketchy Thursday fabulous Design Team! HOW COOL!! I hope that she doesn't mind that I used her idea as inspiration to make a Poinsettia, this is the money card that I made and will be giving to my Daughter-in-law for Christmas. Her and my Son both asked for money and I know they can use it, so it's easy peasy shopping! LOL!

In the center of the Poinsettia I added a flower from my stash and then took needle and thread and stitched small glass beads for the center of the flower.

Here is the inside of the card, nice little envelope to "stash the cash":

Here is what I used:
cardboard from a box that was about to be thrown away
Paper from Creative Memories Starry Night Pack
Small flower, Ribbon and buttons from my stash
Glass beads from Fashion Accessories, purchased at Wal*Mart
Craft paint
Marshmallow Glimmer Mist
Thread

Thanks for taking a peek. Hope you have a GREAT Day!
I LOVE to know who visits, so please leave me a comment.
THANKS!
