Dirty Girls Challenge 1

HOWDY!
Here is my layout for the Dirty Girls First Challenge;
My Pet Peeve
I had a VERY hard time, this is my first time being DIRTY! I am not right sure I got it nailed, but I am happy with it.
My Peeve: People who just can't seem to let things go! The ones who haven't realized they hold the key to their future.
My thoughts: I have learned to deal with whatever happens and move on. I cannot and will not let one thing bring me down!

On the tags: I have put GET OVER IT, MOVE ON, Let it GO!, and along the swirly things I have wrote Be Positive, Smile, Do NOT dwell on things that I cannot change and Live, Laugh, Love.
And MY FUTURE IS BRIGHT!

This is kinda my first baby step, I think it will get better! I have had LOTS of ups and downs in my life and sharing some of them may not happen, cause they are buried DEEP!
Thanks for taking a look!

Have a GREAT Day,

Purple Cows Contest!

HOWDY!

I have been on CLOUD 9 since yesterday morning! I found out the card I made for my DIL for Christmas was chosen by Purple Cows for their contest. I could win $5000.00 of Purple Cow Scrappin' goodies! I am SUPER EXCITED!
Here is the card I made:

You can read more about it here on this POST.

You can vote for me on Sadie Purple Cows Blog I am LUCKY #7!

Here is the pic of me using my Purple Cows Creative Cutter that I sent in when I joined. (I was home alone and in my jammies! lol)
This is my little "blurb" I sent in with my entry:

I got my inspiration from an etsy shop. She had made flowers from corrugated cardboard, I thought a Poinsettia would be really cool for a Chrismtas Card. I traced my pattern and thought there was NO WAY I could cut the tough cardboard with scissors, so grabbed my Purple Cows Creative Cutter and it was a breeze! Purple Cows came through for me, I LOVE the versatility of the products. I now know that NO MATTER what Purple Cows will have the “PERFECT” tool for whatever crafty project I decide to take on. Thanks for the chance to win the “goodies”.

The voting is going on now and I think this is the last day, so if you haven't voted I would SO APPRECIATE your vote! If you have voted, THANK YOU!!

I want to say THANKS to Tessa for the Inspiration!
And also, a HUGE THANKS to Pinky, had I not found her blog and the info on the contest, and some words of encouragement for her, I would have never entered!
THANK YOU, GIRLIES!!

Sketchy Thursday February Guest DT Challenge

HOWDY!
Here is my Layout for Sketchy Thursday Feb. Guest DT Challenge:
I had to take this sketch:
with this prompt: This month let's get nostalgic. Vintage-y. Bombshells, pin-ups, 1950s kitchens, wood-paneled Woodys, dress forms...you get the picture.
I didn't have anything that was REALLY vintage so I had to get creative with my embellishments, and I LOVED how this layout turned out.

Here is what I came up with:

Here is a close up of the title:
Here is a close up of the soap:
and THE BEST thing, the Leg Lamp:
The picture is of my granddaughters Cricket and Abby.
Journaling:
Christmas Morning while we were waiting for Danny, Sarah and the boys to arrive, I turned on the T.V. in the scrap room to keep the girls occupied. We came across "A Christmas Story" and decided to watch it. Cricket thought it was GROSS when Ralphie got his mouth washed out with soap, but thought the saying "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out" was VERY funny.

Here's what I used:
The background paper is from the Imagine That Holiday Cheer Pack
all other paper is from Creative Memories, the lifebuoy soap and the newprint looking stuff I actually printed off from pics I found online, it was a paper from the mid 50's from Brooklyn. Printed it on white paper using only black ink and then distressed it to make it look old with a light brown chalk.
The Title and leg lamp were made using my Cricut Expressions!! I AM SO LOVING what I can do with that and a few computer programs! I added some Gem Stones from Hero Arts around the wreath in the title. Brads, buttons and trim are from my stash.

I took Debbie's Dare!

HOWDY!

WOW! This is my 3rd post within the last 12 hours! I have had some fun in my scrap room!! Here is a calendar that I guess you could say that I altered? It had just a plain brown plastic cover and I knew I could use some of my stash of ribbons and fibers and some of my endless supply of paper to make it a little more appealing. This is for Debbie's Dare Ya'!

Thanks for taking a look!

Sketchy Thursday Second Change Challenge

HOWDY!
Here is my take for Sketchy Thursdays Second Chance Challenge:

Supplies:
Paper, gems and flowers are from Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade line. Snowflake embellishment is from my stash.

Journalling says:
Snowy weather makes for pretty pictures. I would be a LOT happier if winter didn't bring snow, ice and cold weather! How long until Spring?

Here is a close up of the detailing:

Hope you have a GREAT Day!

Sketchy Thursday 12-31

HOWDY!
Here is my take on Sketchy Thursday Challenge this week and it also goes with Frosted Design New Years Challenge :

The strips on the left is a quote that says:
"Here's to the bright New Year,
and a fond farewell to the old;
here's to the things that are yet to come,
and to the memories that we hold."

The journaling says: Sacrifices
Home alone on New Years Eve. Sammy had the chance to work and earn triple pay, so we rang in the New Year on the phone. When I woke up New Years Day, the full moon was still visible, so I had to take a picture.
Under the photo:
Once in a Blue Moon. The 2nd full moon during a calendar month.
Paper is from Creative Memories, Title cut with my Cricut Expressions, poem printed on CM paper. Embellishments are CM from the 4th of July paper pack. Ribbon is from my stash.
Thanks for taking a look,
Hope you have a GREAT Day!
