Scrappin'-n-Chattin' Blog Hop

BUT WAIT! Don't go yet!! I need to give you my blog's secret word! And also, I'd love to share my creation with you and offer my own giveaway!! :)

For my project, I made a paper piecing of a Santa, and then used it on a card, as we are having a Challenge for the month of August to make a Christmas card a day:

To start my paper piecing, I always flip my pattern pieces over and trace them so that my pencil marks are always on the back and don't show on my completed project.
Once I have all the pieces cut out, I chalk them and then start the process of putting them together. I started with Santa's face and added the red part of the hat, then the beard. I then glued my nose to the mustache and placed it on the beard to figure out where I wanted my eyes and eyebrows, so the placement is right. Once I marked Santa's eyes, I gave his cheeks a little glow with some chalk, then I glued the nose/mustache on, and the ball for his hat.

For the "Be Jolly" I printed it out and then light boxed it onto the Santa's beard (the sentiment is also on the pattern. The holly is a stamp Junkitz Clear Stampz Holidays set.
