New Year is almost here and my Fave 5!

HOWDY ALL!
Well, I can't believe that 2009 is almost over! Christmas was great here except that I had to go into work on Christmas Night! Oh Well, the next paycheck is going to be AWESOME, 2 days of holiday pay plus 80+ hours! Can't wait!

I am a follower of Pinky, she is one AWESOME, TALENTED Lady! And she posted her Fave 5 layouts of the year and so I decided to do the same. Here are my Fave 5, I didn't get a lot scrapped this year, except for the last few months. So, I am choosing 5 that I have done recently:
Here's #1: This layout was for Sketchy Thursday, and this pic of my Cousin's daughter Jayda was the first 5 x 7 I came across and I just LOVED how it turned out.
Number 2: This layout if from Grandparent's Luncheon with My Angle Girl Cricket. I made this for a Challenge, but don't remember which one! LOL!

Number 3: This was from a Sketchy Thursday Challenge also, its of My Princess Abbers having fun in the bathtub. This was also the first time I EVER used paint!! TOOO COOL!!

Number 4: I do believe that this was also from a Sketchy Thursday Challenge. It is of My Little Peanut Braxton just being Precious!

Number 5: This layout was from a Bo Bunny Challenge I do believe, it is using the Boo Crew line. It's of all my kiddos on Halloween!

As you can tell most of my layouts are pretty simple. I LOVE using the sketches and all the challenges that I have found, it has helped me get back into scrappin' and also get some pages done!! If you decide to do a FAVE 5, please leave me a link so I can see what you do. Inspiration comes from LOTS of different people and things!

I did receive a WONDERFUL gift for Christmas from my Dear Hubby, He got me a Cricut Expressions, and I purchased the Design studio to go with it!! I had a Quickutz Silhouette for about 4 years and have absolutely WORE it out! Yes, I have cut LOTS of stuff with it! So, FINALLY yesterday, my Daughter Tiffany came down and took it out of the box, set it up for me and showed me how to use it. This is what I made with it today:

I hope you all have a Great, Blessed, Happy, Healthy and
Scrap~A~Licious New Year!

Second Chance Challenge

HOWDY!

I have been busy today! I decided to take the
I had to use this sketch

to make a card or a layout, since I am not much into cards, decided to use the picture of my girls sitting with Santa and here is what I came up with;

The picture didn't turn out well, as it's dark and I didn't want to wait til tomorrow, but maybe will redo in the morning when I have better light.
Here is what I used:
The black paper is from The Paper Studio (I think, taped it down before I really looked!)
The red dot paper is from Imagine That Holiday Cheer stack
"WISH" is chipboard letters but don't remember who made them, took them out of the package long ago!
Black flourishes are from Maya Road
Buttons, brads and "BELIVE" are from my stash

Thanks for taking a peek!
Have a GREAT Day!

Sketchy Thursday Card

HOWDY!
Well, here I am posting another card! LOL! I didn't think I liked making cards, but they ain't so bad! This is the card I made using Sketchy Thursday's Card Sketch to hope to win me some Copics!! WOOHOO!! I have heard LOTS of "COOL" things about these markers, but with living here in the sticks I have never seen any in person. SO, I am a hoping and a praying that my number is the LUCKY one this week!

I had seen some flowers made from cardboard posted on one of the many Blogs that I read, and had to go back and try to find them. Well, I found them alright, they were on Tessa's Blog, she sells them in her etsy shop, and she is a member of Sketchy Thursday fabulous Design Team! HOW COOL!! I hope that she doesn't mind that I used her idea as inspiration to make a Poinsettia, this is the money card that I made and will be giving to my Daughter-in-law for Christmas. Her and my Son both asked for money and I know they can use it, so it's easy peasy shopping! LOL!

In the center of the Poinsettia I added a flower from my stash and then took needle and thread and stitched small glass beads for the center of the flower.

Here is the inside of the card, nice little envelope to "stash the cash":

Here is what I used:
cardboard from a box that was about to be thrown away
Paper from Creative Memories Starry Night Pack
Small flower, Ribbon and buttons from my stash
Glass beads from Fashion Accessories, purchased at Wal*Mart
Craft paint
Marshmallow Glimmer Mist
Thread

Thanks for taking a peek. Hope you have a GREAT Day!
I LOVE to know who visits, so please leave me a comment.
THANKS!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

HOWDY and Happy Thanksgiving!

I am THANKFUL for so many things, but the top of my list right now is the fact that my family had our Thanksgiving Dinner last night. With my Daughter having to work today and my Son needing to go SOO many places to see his In-Laws, we had our dinner last night. It was good to spend the evening with them and get our bellies way FULL! LOL! I worked all night Tuesday, went shopping after work to get some things for our dinner, came home and started cooking! Needless to say, sleep wasn't a part of the day! I finally laid down around 2ish, but my mind wouldn't shut off so after laying there for about 45 minutes, decided I should just get up and keep on going.

Of course, before dinner we had LOTS of goodies to snack on. Appetizers included: summer sausage and cheese, ham roll ups stuffed with green onions, pickles and "nothing" for my daughter, bologna salad, mozzarella cheese cracker dip, and it just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without Pumpkin Pie Dip! (says my Lil' Angel!)

Align CenterThe table is set and dinner is ready!
For Dinner we had:
Turkey
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Stuffing
Sweet Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Corn from our garden, cause there just ain't any better than HOME GROWN!
Cranberry Sauce
Jell-o Salad
and Sister-in-Law Laurel was in charge of the bread/rolls and she chose to stop at Golden Corral and pick up 2 dozen rolls and some Honey Butter! YUMMY!
And of course, dessert was Pumpkin Pie

I told them all if they were hungry when they left it was their own FAULT! LOL!

This is my hubby Sammy and me:
We were both EXHAUSTED! But had a GREAT time with the Family.

This is my Daughter, Tiffany and her family: Abby, Tiff, Dave and Cricket:
This is my Son, Danny, My Lil' Buddy and Sarah:
This is Peanut Braxton, enjoying his "dinner":

This is my Bro' Jeff's family, Josh, Laurel and Jeff:

The newest member of the family sure is getting BIG:

This is Braxton and his Aunt Tiffy with my "CUP", it is the grandkids favorite thing to steal drinks from!:
And last pic to share is of Abby trying to talk her Great Uncle Jeffy into going home with him! When they all left they were headed to get clothes and toys, not sure if it actually happened yet, but I am pretty sure she is getting spoiled at her Great Uncle's house this morning! LOL!

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!

I hope you all have a GREAT Day and a Blessed Thanksgiving!

December Guest Design Team Layout

HOWDY!
I decided to try my hand at Sketchy Thursday's December Guest Design Team Member. I'm kinda excited as this is my first try at something like this, and I figured I had a good as shot as anyone else, I had to use this sketch:

and this prompt: Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend.

The layout with pics from 2007 is of me, my Daughter Tiffany, and Friend Eli. Eli had come down for the weekend to share in our Thanksgiving and to have a Girls Weekend of Scrappin', and of course to join Tiffany and I in our annual Black Friday shopping at Wal*Mart:

Here is what I used and how I made it: I couldn't find the right color paper so I made my own using white CTMH cardstock, stamped with CTMH stamps using the $ stamp from Private Eye Tiny Numbers, Alphabets sets W189 and W190 (couldn't find a name) and the * stamp from the Chocolate Alphabet Small set (cause we were at Wal*Mart!). After stamping, I then used my chalks to get the color I wanted. I also used black glitter fabric puff paint on some of the larger $ signs to make them pop. I cut the edges of the white cardstock and then used a destresser to kinda rough up the edges, then sewed it to my black CTMH Cardstock. (when the puff paint is close to the edge you should sew BEFORE using it, and then just sew 1 thickness, lesson learned!). Black Friday and the $ on the left of the pics were cut using my Silhouette, Black and $ is Arial Black Bold font and friday is Harlow Solid Italic font. I painted the Black Friday with Icicle Stickles, and then sprayed the $ with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist to make them shine, and 2 of them have pop dots to make them stand out. I added some staples to the 2 little journal strips. The bottom journal tag is a punch that I cut down to the size I needed and attached with a safety pin. Rick Rack and flowers are from my stash, I did add some of the same color of chalk to a white flower to give it the same hue as the paper, and the center flower brad I added some CTMH Liquid Glass to to give it a little shine. The silver brads at the bottom spell out shopping, and are from my stash.
Thanks for taking a look!
Hope you have a GREAT Day!

Sketchy Thursday11-12

HOWDY!

Here is my version of Sketchy Thursday's Sketchy Challenge for last week.

This is of My Princess Abbers playing in the tub with her new Bathtub slide that I gifted her last year at Christmas! She just LOVES it, and the batteries we go through! MERCY! I did use paint and splattered it on a waded up piece of cardstock that I then wet and laid flat to dry. After it was dry, I then took some paint and mixed it to get the color I wanted and then added water to it and kinda splattered it around with my fingers, was a bit messy. I wasn't happy until I accidentally splashed water on it and then I was like WOW that is COOL!! hehe I finally had to iron it, so that I could get it to stick onto my background, but all in all I think it turned out pretty good and I am happy with it!

Hope you are all having a GREAT Day!

Dreary Weather and some RAK's!

HOWDY!
The weather here in Mid-Missouri has been WET the last 2 days! Here is a pic of the little creek from my deck. Usually, you can't even see it as it trickles along. But with all the rain, it was a RIVER running rapidly yesterday! The water was a good 10-15 foot across, and it's usually about 2 foot!

Alyson is having a drawing for a very nice RAK! All you need to do is become a follower and your name will be put into the pot for these goodies!

You can click HERE to check it out, GOOD LUCK!

ALSO, I am giving away a few goodies! I went and did a little scrap shopping Saturday and got these goodies from Imaginisce's Snowy Jo Collection. There are 3 packs of Rub-Ons, a Build-a-Jo Sticker Kit and a package of Snowball brads. There is also a pack of Sparkle Delights Stickers that I forgot to add into the pic! UGH! All you need to do is become a follower, leave a comment for me so that I know you are interested in winning these goodies, and I will choose a random winner on Thursday.

I hope to get busy this week and get some more layouts posted.

Until then, I hope you all have a GREAT Day!

WOW! I WON!

HOWDY and OMG! I was SOOOO THRILLED to go take a look at Charlene's Blog and see my name and that I had won her Sweet Treat! WOOHOO!! It has made my WHOLE WEEK and I am thrilled!

I didn't get any scrappin' in today as I had both my granddaughters overnight and after I took Angel to school and Abbers home this morning, I then went and picked up my DIL and my grandsons to take Little Peanut to the Dr. for his 2 month check up. He is getting SOOO BIG! He is 24" long and weighs 14 pounds. He got 2 shots today, one in each leg and needless to say he was NOT very happy.

I am very tired tonight and not sure that I will have the energy to scrap, may just go veg out and watch Survivor here in a bit and then head to bed, and maybe get a good start in the morning. It's back to work tomorrow night, can't say that I have accomplished a lot in my 3 days off this week, but such is life! I am sure when I get in the mood to clean all the dirt will still be here! LOL!
Have a GREAT Evening!

Dusted off my punches!

HOWDY!
First of all, I have to share my silliness with you. If you can't laugh at yourself, then who will? Good saying, huh?

I am working on the ChaCha Changes Challenges over at Treasured Scrapbooking. One of the challenges is to "Punch It Out". Unfortunately for me, I was a little on the tired side and didn't read it correctly, I thought it just said DUST OFF YOUR PUNCHES! WOOHOO!! I have not played with my shelf full of punches in AGES!! I was SOOOO excited! So, I grab my punches and decide to make 2 cards, can use them for a group related challenge also. (I gotta make my challenges count, I don't get much scrap time anyways!)
Here are the 2 cards that I made: The first is just a simple white card using Glimmer Mist and snowflake punches covered with Icicle Stickles and a stamped phrase, and a pop dot behind the largest snowflake. The second is LOTS of circle punches made into flowers, some flower and leaf punches. Paper is from Creative Memories as is the vellum saying.

SOOO, when I went back to Treasure Scrapbooking to post them and I see "BORDER PUNCH"!! HOLY COW!! So, I decided I was a little to tired and frustrated with myself to do anything more last night! This morning however, I was revived and grabbed my Bo Bunny paper (they have a Christmas card sketch). I used the Fiskars Holly Border punch.
So, I play around with it for awhile and then things just start clicking! I need something cool for my Nephew for his Christmas present, he's 17 and will get a gift card to somewhere that he thinks is "COOL" this year! LOL! The more I played the more the I wasn't feeling the card, but am THRILLED with this little gift card holder that I can hang on my tree and enjoy until Christmas.

and here is the side view: I used pop dots on the saying and double pop dots to hold the ribbon so that the bell would lay right.

I hope you enjoyed my little silliness for today! I am so LOL at myself! At least I accomplished something, have 2 cards ready to send when I need them, my first Christmas present done and I am HAPPY!!

If you are still here and finished reading my funny for the day PLEASE become a follower! I am heading to do some Scrap shopping on Saturday and will choose a random follower to receive a RAK just for following me!
Have a GREAT Day!
